The Magical Moments.
I could choose any photo from The Farm, and easily describe to you the depth of meaning and intention behind it.
As I have taken thousands of photos of the farm, I decided to spare you the novel, but choose instead a few photos from the past week and share the MAGICAL MOMENTS behind each of them.
The Waltz of The Orange & The Blue
Sunsets at the pool are a nightly occurrence. You’d think that at a certain point, the magic of it would diminish, but it’s in fact quite the opposite.
The sun dances with the earth and the atmosphere, we have the ability to see & perceive light in its different forms and colors… how the light changes by the second and with it, the sounds of nature changing also. The temperature drops, it’s like entering a new world without going anywhere at all.
A cacophony of auditory, visual, temporal, & emotional artwork, made in real time each and every day by the magical cosmic waltz between a star and a planet.
How cool is that.
Just Breathe.
Photos of a breathwork class with Robyn remind me how much care lives in the hearts and minds of the many talented people that work here at The Farm.
Details, tiny moments, education, flowers, sun streaming in the window, people sharing conversation & laughter, breathing so deeply that it resets your nervous system, feeling the air in the room shift when the souls learn to find their rhythm.
The Magic is real here, every day. It’s cultivated. It’s stewarded. It’s fought for, and enjoyed freely.
A Sacred Place.
There are many places to find peace for a pensive moment on The Farm, but The Labyrinth has a rare & healing energy.
Created by Jordan with some assistance from his Father, there was no choice but for The Labyrinth to be born into existence.
This hill has the most spectacular view of the mountains and the farm, it’s the “money shot” as far as anyone is concerned. I generally gravitate to the more invisible places to find meaning, but I find an exception sitting in the grass up here.
It really, truly is… sacred.
Sweet Friends.
This place really is made for community. You can bring your own. You can find a new one. You can simply be in the community of nature.
Communal dining can be a shock for some. Most people are used to dining with their insular group, sharing conversations that are special, but perhaps predictable.
The dining room here is quite literally an old farmhouse dining room. Made for the sharing of stories between friends new and old, and it’s a gift that anyone can enjoy.
When was the last time you ate with someone new? Stretched your mind & your awareness beyond the “table for two?”
Innerdance.
I have a little pontification sometimes that we all strive to be ENTERtained, not INNERtained. I think I heard it on a podcast, but the sentiment has lingered with me for years.
Innerdance with Linda is the pinnacle of delving into your own being and uncovering, rediscovering, reshaping the very fabric of yourself.
I was humbled and greatly touched to photograph this class and hear the stories shared at the end. The playing of Max Richter’s recomposition of “Spring” by Vivaldi had me in tears.
This song means so much to me, and when Linda played it during this class… I felt one of those moments in life where it seems like all of the molecules, the particles, the energy, the fabric of everything had lined up just so… just right… The tidal wave of gratitude that washed over my soul, and the tears that streamed down my face, they were everything in that moment.
I am grateful for people like Linda, places like the farm, music that moves, and the wonder of living a life with an imperfect, beating heart. It’s the brokenness of life that even allows for moments as beautiful as these to occur.
Breathe. Plunge. Sauna. Connect.
Nathan visited the farm with a corporate retreat, and felt the same pull, the same passion, that it seems everyone feels here. As a Wim Hoff breathwork instructor, Nathan “breathed” some of his life and his ability into the farm by hosting the Breathe • Plunge • Sauna class.
Another exemplary person that has found and fallen in love with this place, and chooses then to SHARE and ADD to the value of it.
The Heartwarmer.
Nicole created this “Journey” at The Spa, and something that was expected to be rather straightforward, turned instead into a Journey of OUR OWN.
There is not a detail in this Journey that has not been considered carefully, felt, cared about. It’s an embodiment of Nicole and her dedication to healing, and not just the buzzword kind of healing… the kind that has us weeping in joy or sadness, living in the fullness & truth of what having a heart for people REALLY can be.
This is a Journey that I am proud to have had a small part in, and a shining example of the excellence of these people.
