The Vanderbilt's Knew Something About Asheville
Asheville - A City on the Rise
Calling Western North Carolina my second home since I was a kid, the majesty and splendor of the Blue Ridge Mountains has had a special place in my heart and my families for some time now. From the delightfully cool weather and breathtaking nature to the endless options for activities and dining, clearly we aren't the only ones who have been drawn to vacation here.
After all, the Vanderbilt family did lay there roots in Asheville, North Carolina over 100 years ago, making this there second home and private getaway (if you are unfamiliar with the Biltmore Estate check it out, it's a must see). And while they definitely had a hand at putting this area on the map it has taken the better part of a century for Asheville to finally come into its own.
And clearly that TIME is now.
Named this year by Forbes as one of the "15 Coolest Places To Go In 2018" in the WORLD ( and only place in the USA) and by GQ Magazine as "The Coolest City You've Never Been Too" - it begs the question -
What exactly is going on here?
Could it be the burgeoning beer and food scene, the rampant cultural and artistic influx, or the simplistic charm of southern Americana that's drawing attention to this special place?
I know the answer but I think you should come find out for yourself... we'd love to be your hub as you discover the magic that is Asheville.
