Dear Family, Friends, and Friends we call Family:

Situated on The French Broad River, The Horse Shoe Farm derives its name from the form this ancient river carves as it snakes through our region in the shape of a horseshoe. Our farm sits fortuitously at the tail end of the horseshoe bend, and the ancient waters maintain a continuous flow our way.

Serendipity brought us to this land where we discovered the wonder of it was more than the sum of the rolling green pastures and magnificent sunsets. There was something more, an unexplainable magic that stirs within its gates.

We were awakened to a sense of peace and belonging, a space to commune with nature and the mountains, to connect and discover ourselves and each other, to simply be.

And it is so that we were compelled to share what we’d discovered.

We invite you to experience the wonder of The Horse Shoe Farm, to make memories that will last a lifetime, and to truly exist in the moments that will soon be gone.

We feel lucky to share that with you.

The Turchin Family

not a place to stay,
A place to be.

The Farm has a story to tell, and so do you.

Our story is made whole by the shared experiences of each of our beloved visitors,
and we are honored when they tell their story back to us,

SO THAT WE CAN SHARE THEM WITH YOU.

The Helfant’s

  • Looking for the kids and finding them up high in a giant tree on property.

  • It’s authentic wellness lodging, and it’s chic. From check in to check out everything feels personal because it is. Intentionally curated by real people with real farm living under their belt sharing their slice of heaven.

Unique and individual for unique individuals!

  • Never change dinner at the Silo Cookhouse. The pre dinner drink reception in the “lobby”, the family style dining experience, the presentation of the food on the plate and ultimately the introduction of each dish by the chef - its the ultimate marriage between a fancy restaurant night out and thanksgiving dinner at home with the family.

A communal gathering place for guests to connect with each other after they’ve disconnected and reconnected with oneself on the farm.

The Karol’s

  • In Summer 2021 we woke up at the Meadow Cottage to the horses hanging out in our front yard. Juli, from NY, thought it was totally normal for the horses to be roaming about the property. Adam, from Kansas, realized the horses had escaped and promptly called Jordan.

It was clear they wanted to come hang with their horse friends on the neighboring farm. They stood at the edge of the property grazing and maybe chatting in "horse" before Johnny came and brought them back to the animal house....and then the chickens ate all their manure.

  • What the Turchin Family have created here is the only place on the planet we feel like we can actually vacation with our two young children. We cherish our "farm sleep" every time we come, feeling so well-rested like we've squeezed 12 hours of sleep into 7 or 8 hours. The property is expansive and we go days making no plans at all because there's so much freedom for our city kids to run around.

From the children's clubhouse to the game room to the animals to the Silo. And we have to give a shout out to Chef Dan who, in addition to making the most delicious food, welcomes our children into the kitchen to watch him make pasta and pesto from scratch, offers them tastes of his delectable concoctions, and has endless patience for their questions.

Horseshoe Farm is the perfect destination for us to recharge and reconnect as a family. We treasure this haven!

  • Please keep all the pig statues everywhere. Our kids mount them and it's hysterical. It wouldn't be HSF without the pigs.

The Hague’s

  • Aiden- Jumping in the pool and running through the horse field I n December! Brrrrrrr!

Ava- Feeding the Horses and Chickens every morning and rolling down the hill!

Krystle and Trevor- we laughed and smiled a lot just watching the kids play and climb trees!

  • We chose The Horse Shoe Farm to have a get away from our busy Miami life. We wanted to slow things down and enjoy some Farm Life with our kids.

There is something so special about it there, we truly disconnected from everything and connected with each other in such a beautiful way!

  • The Horse Shoe Farm keeps evolving every time we visit and there new surprises around every corner! Each house/cottage is so unique, we have loved staying at a new cottage each time we visit. The Spa is excellent, the Playroom/Club House is a great hangout for adults and kids and the Silo House Farm to Table dining experience is top notch!

We can’t wait to visit gain very soon!

Winding through the Blue Ridge Mountains, the third oldest river in the world glides gently down the path she’s so carefully carved over millions of years.

Some say she’s the luckiest bend in the French Broad River
but we know it to be true.

It is here, nestled on the tail end of her fortuitous creation, that the The Horse Shoe Farm gets its name.
