Experience the buzz firsthand with a unique beekeeping adventure, followed by a delightful wine and cheese tasting at The Silo Cookhouse. Discover the fascinating world of honey bees as you get an up-close look at a working hive, home to thousands of busy bees, all under the expert guidance of a professional beekeeper. Whether you're seeking a fun team-building activity, a memorable outing with friends or family, or a special experience with your significant other, our beekeeping tours offer an unforgettable experience.

This exciting 2-hour tour kicks off in a scenic outdoor setting, where you'll learn about the incredible honey bee, the art of beekeeping, and the essential tools of the trade. After a brief introduction, you'll don protective gear (provided) and take a short walk to one of our active apiaries. During the tour, you'll have the chance to sample our pure raw honey straight from the hive and capture plenty of amazing photos. To wrap up the experience, indulge in a relaxing wine and cheese tasting at The Silo Cookhouse. The Art of Bees - 10 am to 12 pm | Wine & Cheese Tasting - 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

Beekeeping Activities can be unsafe for people with certain medical conditions, and it's best to consult with a medical provider before participating. Common risks associated with beekeeping include, but are not limited to: β€’ Allergic reaction to bee venom β€’ Burns or fire hazards related to the use of the smoker β€’ Increased poor health conditions, such as heart conditions and diabetes β€’ Heat stroke β€’ Back injuries from improper lifting techniques YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES If you intend to participate in Beekeeping Activities: β€’ Dress Appropriately. Participants must wear pants and no open-toed shoes. β€’ Avoid perfumes or strong-smelling scents that may attract bees. β€’ No pets allowed. β€’ Demonstrate safe and respectful behavior around the bee hives. If Participant engages in behavior that puts themselves or others at risk, he or she may be dismissed without refund. β€’ Minor children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. β€’ The bee hives are located in an uncovered area on the property. Please bring a water bottle and a hat. Take periods of rest from the heat when needed.
